Short story sale

I keep forgetting to mention that the Australian Woman’s Day magazine has bought another of my short stories πŸ™‚ It may not be published for some months, but I’ll tweet and blog when I know which edition it’s coming out in.

The story’s working title is ‘Echoes of Daniel’ (thanks, Jenn, for brainstorming that!) and it’s a romantic suspense – and yes, it was a challenge writing a romantic suspense story in 1500 words! But a fun challenge, once the idea came to me πŸ™‚

  1. Wow, I can’t wait. I really enjoyed the last story. I’ve had to write short stories in the past, and I hate it so much because it’s such a difficult thing to do!

  2. SN, I’m something of a latecomer to short stories, but I’ve enjoyed writing the two I’ve done. For me, the challenge is coming up with an idea that I can do something with in such a short word-count. Once I get an idea, it’s kinda fun πŸ™‚

Amy, I’m not sure when it will be out – it may not be for some months.

  3. HI Bronwyn, the Echoes of Daniel was published in the October 18th 2010 edition of Woman’s Day. Unfortunately i thought it was only a “section” out of a book you had written & was looking forward to buying the whole book. But now i’ve just realised it is only a short story you have written. Any chance you can make it into a novel? It was so good to read and I want to know what happens next to Daniel, Rohan & Mairi!!!!

    • Joyline, sorry to take ages to reply! My problem with writing short stories is that I always want to make them into novels πŸ™‚ I have lots more ideas for Daniel and Mairi’s story, but have to write another book first… I’m sure they’ll wait patiently for me, though! Thank you for letting me know that you’d love to hear more about them!
