Exciting news

I had a phone call from the US a short while ago, with the wonderful news that Dead Heat is a finalist in the romantic suspense category of the Romance Writers of America RITA awards.

Thank you so much to the lovely Jeanne Pickering Adams who was the Board member who called me – I hope I didn’t squeal too loudly in her ear!

The RITA awards are often described as the ‘Oscars’ for the romance genre – the winners are announced at the gala awards night at the end of the Romance Writers of America conference, which this year will be in Atlanta, Georgia, from July 17-20th. I will be going to the conference this year, and I’m very much looking forward to it! When Dark Country finalled in the RITAs in 2010, sadly I couldn’t go because of pending brain surgery – but this time I’ll be there!

The full list of finalists will be posted on the RWA website later today.

Congratulations and what wonderful news. I knew that Dead Heat would be a winner when I read it. Enjoy the time in Atlanta.

I hope you are now fully recovered from the surgery and are living a normal life with that wonderful, caring man to whom you are married. Sorry, having a brain fade and can’t remember his name.

Judith, thank you so much for your good wishes! Yes, am doing well and enjoying life – and will be much more relaxed when I finish and submit my fourth book in a few days! I’ll have time then for a double celebration – for finishing the book, and finaling in the RITAs 🙂

This is such great and happy news–huge congratulations!

How I wish I could attend RWA this year–just meeting you would make the trip entirely worth while. Here’s wishing you the best time at the conference, it’s always a blast!

Thanks so much, Azteclady! I’m definitely looking forward to the conference as I haven’t been to a US one since 2008. I wish I could meet you at conference too – is there any way you could come? If you do, make sure you let me know so we can arrange to meet up. (I’ll be the somewhat dazed girl from the bush, overwhelmed by the crowds…)

  3. Hi there! Do you use Twitter? I’d like to follow you if that would be okay. I’m absolutely enjoying your
