Darkening Skies will officially be out on Tuesday, so to celebrate, I’m giving away signed copies this weekend in three giveaways. So, lots of chances to win – and much more fun than the Australian election which is taking place this weekend!
One giveaway will be open only to newsletter subscribers, and the newsletter I’m sending out tomorrow morning will have the details of how to enter that. So you still have a few hours to subscribe if you wish!
The second weekend giveaway will be here on the blog – just comment on this post during the weekend about why you’d like to win Darkening Skies, or what you’ll be reading this weekend to distract yourself from the election drama, or suggest a book for readers who enjoy my books (because I can only write a book a year, and you all read faster than that!) On Monday evening (Australian eastern time) I’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from the commenters. For this giveaway and the newsletter one I will post to anywhere on the planet that has a postal service. (And if I’m organised enough, I will post them on Tuesday!)
The third giveaway is on Goodreads – unfortunately it’s only open to people in Australia, Canada, US and UK because for some techno-reason I couldn’t scroll in the Goodreads form to select more countries. If you’re a member of Goodreads, click the link below to enter.

We’re definitely on the countdown to release day! And in a week there’s theย local launch, so if you live in the Armidale/Uralla area or you want to visit, please do come along.
Now, if you’ve subscribed to the newsletter, entered the Goodreads giveaway, don’t forget to leave a comment on this post ย – why you’d like to win, and/or good books to read when you don’t have one of mine ๐
Hi Bronwyn
I am so looking forward to thus one ๐ I so love your stories
I have it on order as an eBook but I do love having paperback copies of my favourite stories. I am reading an Annie West book at the moment but for people who love your stories and are waiting on another one from you I would suggest any of Helene Young s they are so good as well.
Congrats on the release
Have Fun
Helen
Hi Helen! I get paperbacks of my favourites, too. You never know when the power might go out for weeks, or technology might fail… plus, they’re pretty to look at! I enjoy Annie West’s books – must catch up with her latest ones. Thanks for the reminder!
Hi Bronwyn, I’m devastated not to be able to come to your launch next weekend…I made it to Tamworth to the last one. Hopefully next year to the next book! I can’t wait to read Darkening Skies, I’ve been looking forward to it for ages!
Good luck with the launch…hope there are lots of people there, and you have a ball! x
Sorry I won’t see you Brenda but it is a long way to come! Thanks for your good wishes for Darkening Skies – I’m sure we’ll have fun launching it!
Hi Bronwyn,
I’ve read your other three books and loved them all, so I’m definitely planning to read Darkening Skies, one way or the other!
Good luck with your launch.
Heather, you’re in with a chance to win it ๐ Hope you like Darkening Skies, whichever way it comes!
Hi Bronwyn
Can’t wait for the next book to come out, it has been a long wait. Saying that it has given me the opportunity to try different authors. I’m doubly lucky as I work in the book buying department of my City’s libraries,so not only have I introduced your books to our readers but I get to see all other authors stock coming through; Mary Burton & Debra Webb are at the top of my reading list at the moment with Linda Howard & Karen Robards coming in close behind. I wish you luck with the launch and cannot wait to once again delve into the lives of the people of Dungirri. Best wishes, Sally
Sorry for the long wait, Sally! I wish I could write as fast as you all read ๐ Thanks so much for including my books in your libraries – libraries and the people who work in them are wonderful! I haven’t read Mary Burton but I have read Debra Webb, Linda Howard and (I think) Karen Robards. There are so many great romantic suspense authors!
I would vary much like to win a copy of Darkening Sky’s as have read and still have all your other books on my bookshelf. I am so looking forward to reading this one. Reading Shatted Sky by Helene Young at the moment then will read Burning Lies of Helene’s also while waiting to get my hands on Darkening Sky’s.
Sue, it’s lovely to hear that my books are on your bookshelves ๐ You’ll enjoy Shattered Sky and Burning Lies. Helene’s latest, Half Moon Bay, is also a great read – it should be easily available in bookshops still.
Just a couple of days now before Darkening Skies is out!
Hi Bronwyn,
Congratulations on the launch of your new book Darkening Skies, I thoroughly enjoy your books and once I start reading I can’t put them down. I would love to win a copy of Darkening Skies to show off next month as I sit by my husband’s side in Royal North Shore Hospital when he has brain surgery. I am now going to look forward to reading a great book, i’m sure it will help me have some relaxing time during an otherwise stressful week. Please keep writing! Best wishes, Rhonda
Rhonda, every good wish winging your way for your husband’s brain surgery! I know from my own experience how worrying it is, but I’m sure, like I was, he will be in the best hands. I do hope Darkening Skies (or another book) helps make those hours of waiting seem not quite so long.
Surgeons can do amazing things these days and I was always inspired each time I was in the neuro ward at RPA how resilient and adaptive the human brain can be. If his surgery is anything similar to the op I had (intra/extra cranial bypass of ICA to bypass an aneurism) and either of you want to chat about the experience, please do let me know.
Hi Bronwyn,
Love your books and am looking forward to Darkening Skies. So sorry I can’t attend the launch as I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Can’t wait to read Darkening Skies and add it to my library. Have a fantastic launch! Maggie
Maggie, I’ll be up in Brisbane for GenreCon in October and am hoping I might get to do an event up there but there’s no definite plans yet. You’re in the draw for Darkening Skies and I’ll draw it tomorrow, the day before it’s officially out – hope you enjoy it, too, however you get it!
Reading while it lasts by Abbi Glines
I’ll have to look that one up! Thanks for suggesting it ๐
I’d love to win Darkening Skies to read on the plane to Turkey and pass it around my friends on the gulet trip.
Janene, you’re in the draw! I’m envious over your Turkish trip – hope you have a fantastic time!
Hey Bronwyn,
I thought I’d posted here but I can’t find the entry so I’m trying again.
I’ve just finished Paullina Simons memoir “Six Days In Leningrad” about her experience returing to Russia and writing “The Bronze Horseman” and I’m halfway through reading Lee Christine’s “In Safe Hands.”
I can’t wait to read ‘Darkening Skies’. I have been constantly on the lookout for the release date and any infomation regarding it since you mention it back in March. Best of luck with the launch, and see you there ๐
